Licensed Professional Counselor
Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors
Hey There! I'm Shanaz (she/her/hers).
I’m a second generation South Asian American, social justice advocate, and licensed professional counselor/board certified. I’m also a wife, fierce mama and Texas therapist serving BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ populations.
As a therapist, I help folx find their footing when they feel detached, unseen and unheard. I am passionate about serving women, mothers, and young professionals, in addition to those with trauma wounding.
"It's hard to function at your best when you don’t feel like yourself."
Everyone has a story to share and counseling helps identify those barriers, creates room for healing and an opportunity to evolve and grow. We often repeat what we don’t repair and I’m here to help you find a solution that creates meaningful change. So let’s break some generational chains, barriers and anything holding you back from being your most authentic self.
Educational Background: Master's of Science in Counseling from the University of North Texas and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Starting therapy can seem daunting and overwhelming but I’m here to remind you that you are worthy of being seen, heard, and understood. I operate from a holistic mind-body approach, with a trauma informed framework, and currently offer brain spotting.
I most certainly love what I do and feel honored to be part of the therapeutic journey.

In the hearts of all mankind, of whatever race or station in life, there are inexpressible longings for something they do not now possess. This longing is implanted in the very constitution of man by a merciful God, that man may not be satisfied with his present conditions or attainments, whether bad, or good, or better. God desires that the human shall seek the best, and find it to the eternal blessing of his soul. Desire of Ages, Preface-EGW.
